OpenCorporates

OpenCorporates is a Module (integrated data source) in UserSearch. It draws on OpenCorporates, the large open database of company-registration records aggregated from official government registers, and powers company-entity lookups within the platform.

OpenCorporates aggregates public company-registration data published by official corporate registries. In UserSearch it surfaces as a Module you can run when you need to resolve a legal entity, its officers, and its registered details rather than an individual person.

When you run an OpenCorporates search in UserSearch, results may include:

  • Companies — registered legal entities, registration numbers, jurisdiction, and status.
  • Directors and officers — named officers associated with a company.
  • Addresses — registered and mailing addresses tied to an entity.
  • Trademarks — trademark records linked to a company.
  • Filings — statutory filings and related documents held against the register.

OpenCorporates appears under the Corporate search type. It powers the following Modules:

  • Company Search
  • Director Search
  • Address Enquiry
  • Trademark Search
  1. Open a Corporate search.
  2. Choose the relevant Module — Company Search, Director Search, Address Enquiry, or Trademark Search.
  3. Enter your query (for example a company name, officer name, address, or trademark) and run the search.
  4. Review the returned entity records, and pivot from a company, director, or address into further searches as needed.
