FaceCheck.id
FaceCheck.id is an integrated data source (a Module) in UserSearch. It performs reverse face search: you supply a photo containing a face, and it looks for other images across its web index where the same face appears. In UserSearch, FaceCheck.id is one of the data sources behind the Picture search type.

What FaceCheck.id is
Section titled “What FaceCheck.id is”FaceCheck.id is a face-matching engine rather than a text lookup. Instead of starting from a name, email or username, you start from a face in an image. It compares the face you submit against an index of images gathered from the public web and returns the places where a visually similar face turns up. That makes it useful when a photo is your only starting point and you want to find where else that person’s image appears online.
What it returns
Section titled “What it returns”When you run a Picture search through FaceCheck.id, it supplies image-match results such as:
- Matching images — web images containing a face that resembles the one you submitted
- Source pages — the web locations where each matching image was found
- Match confidence — a similarity score indicating how close each match is
Which UserSearch search types use it
Section titled “Which UserSearch search types use it”FaceCheck.id appears under the Picture search type, as the Module for reverse face search. You select it when your input is a photo of a person and you want to find other images of that same face elsewhere on the web. Other Picture Modules cover different tasks (such as image geo-location), so switching Modules changes both what you look up and the underlying data source.
