People modules & options

The People Intelligence search type exposes five Modules in the captured build. Each Module is a card in the grid that runs one person search against a specific data source — the external third party that holds the data — or, for People (OneScan), across several data sources at once. Selection is single-select: the active tile carries a coral-orange border and title. All five Modules take the same input — one multi-field person form (see below).

For the composer flow that surrounds these Modules, see People search: overview; for reading what comes back, see Reading People results.

The module names, data-source sub-labels, and grid order above are taken directly from the composer.

The lead Module: Person (Data: Pipl - Social)

Section titled “The lead Module: Person (Data: Pipl - Social)”

Person (Data: Pipl - Social) is pre-selected when you open the search type (sub-label “Pipl social data”). Its description panel reads: “Person search using Pipl social dataset. Finds comprehensive social profiles and personal information for an individual.” Its Cost per search is $1.00, and selecting it loads the multi-field person form with the Pipl-specific intro text. It searches Pipl’s social data.

Besides the lead Pipl (Social) Module, three further Modules query one named data source directly. Pick these when you want a specific source rather than the merged OneScan run:

  • Person (Data: Predicta) — person search over Predicta data. See Predicta.
  • Person (Data: Pipl - Business) — person search over Pipl’s business dataset. See Pipl.
  • Person (Data: OsintIndustries) — person search over OSINT Industries data. See OSINT Industries.

Every data source in this search type has a dedicated integration page; none was missing.

People (OneScan) — the multi-source Module

Section titled “People (OneScan) — the multi-source Module”

People (OneScan) is badged RECOMMENDED and subtitled “Multi-source scan”. It fans a single person query out across several data sources at once and merges the results, so the results table attributes each row to the data source that returned it — broader coverage than any single-source Module in one run. Its tile carries a gear icon that opens the Choose Data Source modal.

OneScan’s cost is dynamic — the charge is the sum of the data sources left toggled on (per Lee, 2026-07-08). See OneScan explained.

The People (OneScan) Module carries a gear icon that opens the Choose Data Source modal. As documented generally in How UserSearch works and OneScan, the modal lets you:

  • toggle each data source on/off with a checkbox, each row showing its own per-search cost;
  • read a Total cost line that sums the enabled data sources (this matches the composer’s OneScan cost line);
  • optionally tick “Remember my choice and hide this from future searches” to persist your selection;
  • commit with Apply Filters, revert with Reset, or dismiss with Close or the ×.

Toggling a data source off removes its cost from the total and narrows which data sources OneScan queries — the lever for trading coverage against spend.

The person form (shared input across every Module)

Section titled “The person form (shared input across every Module)”

All five Modules feed the same multi-field person form. You need only one detail, but supplying more reduces false positives. The intro text observed with Person (Data: Pipl - Social) selected reads: “This search uses PIPL.com data to find a person based on one or more of the details below. Providing more information reduces false positives. While you only need to enter one detail, adding guesses for other fields and reviewing the results is recommended.”

The captured fields are:

The Search Now button (coral-orange, magnifier icon) sits inline with the Phone Number field, and the Cost per search line ($1.00 for the selected Module) sits below the form.

Each Module tile shows a data-source icon, a bold title, a greyed data-source sub-label (as “(Data: …)”), and a short descriptor. Tiles also carry a circular ”?” help icon; the People (OneScan) tile additionally carries the gear (Choose Data Source) icon.
