Phone modules & options

The Phone Intelligence search type exposes seven Modules in the captured build. Each Module is a card in the grid that runs one search against a specific data source — the external third party that holds the data — or, for Phone (OneScan), across several data sources at once. As in every UserSearch composer, selection is single-select: the active tile carries a coral-orange border and title.

Caution

Two costs are captured: Background Check (US) at $0.40 and Phone (Data: OsintIndustries) at $0.70 (observed 2026-07-10). The Phone (OneScan) dynamic range and the fixed per-search costs of the four remaining data-provider Modules — Pipl (Social), Predicta, Epieos, and Pipl (Business) — were not captured; only those tiles’ subtitles were observed, not their description panels or prices. Confirm the Cost per search line on the tile before running any Module.

The lead Module: Background Check (US)

Background Check (US) is the tile drawn selected — with a coral-orange border — when the Phone Intelligence type is captured. Its tile shows a US flag, the “(US)” label, and the subtitle “US background check”. Its description panel reads: “Comprehensive US-based background check using a phone number. Returns identity, address history, and public records information.” Its Cost per search is $0.40.

Its query form carries a Country Code dropdown (observed set to “US (+1) United States”) and a Phone Number text field pre-filled with the dialling-code prefix (“+1”), with the coral-orange Search Now button and magnifier icon to its right. The tile also carries a help (?) icon and a small filmstrip / report-style icon.

Not an FCRA consumer report

The word “background check” here describes OSINT and public-records data, not a Fair Credit Reporting Act consumer report. UserSearch is not a consumer reporting agency, and its results must not be used to decide someone’s employment, tenancy, credit, or insurance. Note

The tile drawn selected is the app’s fixed out-of-box default (per Lee, 2026-07-10), not your last-used choice. Click the Module you want whenever you need a different one.

The single-source Modules

Five Modules query one named data source directly. Pick these when you want a specific source rather than the US background check or the merged OneScan run. Each was observed only by its tile subtitle:

• Phone (Data: OsintIndustries) — subtitle “OSINT Industries data”. See OSINT Industries.
• Phone (Data: Pipl - Social) and Phone (Data: Pipl - Business) — subtitles “Pipl social data” and “Pipl business data”. See Pipl.
• Phone (Data: Predicta) — subtitle “Predicta data”. See Predicta.
• Phone (Data: Epieos) — subtitle “Epieos data”. See Epieos.

Each returns that source’s own phone-linked identity / enrichment data. Every data-provider tile carries a help (?) icon; the OsintIndustries tile additionally carries a filmstrip / report-style icon.

Caution

The description panel, input form, and Cost per search value for each of these five data-provider Modules were not captured — only the tile subtitle was observed. Confirm each on-screen before running.

Phone (OneScan) — the multi-source Module

Phone (OneScan) is badged RECOMMENDED and carries the subtitle “Multi-source scan”. Its tile shows a gear (settings) icon and a help (?) icon. A single OneScan search fans one number out across several phone data sources and merges the results, so the results table attributes each row to the data source that returned it.

OneScan’s cost is dynamic — the charge is the sum of the data sources left toggled on in its Choose Data Source modal. In the captured build the specific range and the data-source list were not recorded. See OneScan explained.

Choose Data Source

The Phone (OneScan) tile’s gear icon opens a Choose Data Source modal. It lists the individual data sources OneScan can query, each with a checkbox toggle and its own per-search cost, plus a running Total cost that sums the enabled data sources. Toggling a data source off removes its cost from the total and narrows which data sources OneScan queries — the lever for trading coverage against spend. Commit with Apply Filters, restore defaults with Reset, or dismiss without committing via Close or the ×.

Caution

For Phone Intelligence, the OneScan gear opening the Choose Data Source modal is referenced but not directly captured, and the exact data sources it lists and their per-search costs were not captured. The behaviour above describes the OneScan Choose Data Source modal as documented for the search types where it was observed. Open the modal to confirm the current selection before you rely on it.

Per-tile affordances

Each Module tile shows a data-source icon, a bold title, a greyed data-source subtitle (as “(Data: …)” or a short ”… data” label), and a short descriptor. Every tile carries a circular ”?” help icon; the Background Check (US) and Phone (Data: OsintIndustries) tiles additionally carry a small filmstrip / report-style icon, and the Phone (OneScan) tile additionally carries a gear icon.

Caution

The content shown by the per-tile ”?” help icon and the destination of the filmstrip / report-style icon were not captured. Their contents are not asserted here.
